In December 2010 a
picture of Mac was sent to us by our friend, Charlotte Lee.
Ivan took one look and said, "we need to go get him!" (Ivan
knows a good dog when he sees one!)
A week before Christmas we traveled to Floyd's Knobs, IN and
brought Mac home. What a wonderful addition to our family
he has been! And he's living up to being Ivan's dog.
Mac's father is the very lovely Beckham (Ch. Meisterhaus
Ableaim Kick It), owned by Tad Brooks and Joseph Hurt, and
the dam is Ella (MSBIS Ch. Oxford Tobell Fire And Ice), the
Best of Breed winner at the 2008 American Whippet Club
National Specialty in Oregon and also the Best of Breed and
Hound Group 2 winner at the Eukanuba Dog Show the same year
in Long Beach, CA.
Mac started his show career
by winning the 6-9 month puppy class at the 2011 AWC
National Specialty under long-time breeder judge, Calvin
Perry (Appraxin). We had a great time showing Mac and he
finished with a major under another breeder/judge, Tom
Kirstein (Ripshin) in February 2012.
Our long-time friend,
Michelle Nicoll, whose mother, Emily Nicoll, has our
Redcliffe Just About Time (Mimi) decided she was ready for a
whippet. Charlotte and I thought that this would be the
perfect home for Mac. So, in June 2012, Mac went to live
with Shelly.
Before he went, he sired a
beautiful litter of puppies out of Ch. Snowcap’s Dance of
Dezire owned by Susan Crosby, Lynn Baker and Dianne Reimer.
We look forward to watching these babies grow up and wish
Shelly many years of great fun with the beautiful Mac. |
