Eli - what can I say. He's all any breeder would want!
It
started when Charlotte Lee, owner of NSBIS/MSBIS Ch. Oxford
Tobell Fire And Ice called me at work one day and said,
"I've decided to breed Ella to Justin". Well, my co-workers
already think I'm certifiable with all of my dog pictures
plastered around my desk, etc., and when I burst out in
tears, they were not surprised!
After
Charlotte graciously added my name as Ella's co-owner to
allow me to show any of the babies in the Bred-by-exhibitor
class, a beautiful litter of four puppies resulted.
I
think from the first day he was born, Charlotte had him
designated as our puppy to keep. Eli came home with Ivan and
me from the 2012 National Specialty where the whole litter
made quite a stir!
He
hasn't disappointed us. First time in the show ring at six
months and five days, he was Winner's Dog and Best
Bred-by-exhibitor for a major. He went on two and three
weeks later to win his 2nd, 3rd and 4th majors to finish his
championship at the age of seven months and two days of age
under highly respected judges. The day after he finished his
championship he was moved up to Best of Breed and won his
first BOB over other champions and went on to a Hound Group
3rd. We know this is only a beginning for Eli!
In
addition to his beautiful conformation, he loves to show -
he took this from his wonderful father, Justin. He is so
much fun to have around the house and is the BEST LICKER in
the world (just licks, no bites! - Charlotte trained him
well!). Thank you to my dear friend, Charlotte, for giving
Justin the opportunity to sire this litter and for Redcliffe
Whippets to have Eli.
On April 30, 2016 in San Diego, CA - Eli wins Best of Breed
under Breeder-Judge Dr. Barbara Henderson (Whippoorwill) at
the 2016 American Whippet Club National Specialty.
Two days prior to this, Eli won the AWC People's Choice
Award at the AWC Top 20 Competition. |
